Dave Snow joined Home Learning College as Academic Director in April 2007 from the distance learning arm of Manchester Business School.

Dave has considerable knowledge of the education market. Before joining Home Learning College, he worked at Manchester Business School, where he was Head of Programme Development with responsibility for the institution's distance learning programmes. Prior to this, he was Director of Qualifications and Operations at National Computing Centre (NCC) Education, and he has previously worked as far afield as Central Africa, as a Senior Consultant and lecturer with the Botswana Government.

Dave also has extensive experience as a senior executive working in general management, strategic planning and business development (including e-business). He has designed, developed and launched many programmes including internationally recognised qualifications. Some successfully implemented business projects have included:

  • European and International Computer Driving Licence scheme (ECDL/ICDL)
  • Higher Education degrees and masters awards with UK universities to an international market
  • Blended (online) Education using technology-assisted learning
  • Corporate TQM, ISO9001 & academic quality
  • Commercial computer training centre

Dave joins Home Learning College tasked with a number of clear goals. Some of the key areas he will be addressing include:

  • Expanding the range of Home Learning College courses to meet growing consumer demand for vocational training
  • Continuing to refine and improve the quality of the student learning experience, from enrolment to course completion, including full tutorial support
  • Increasing the level of student achievement through exceptional web based support
  • The development of academic partnerships with leading industry bodies across a variety of vertical sectors

Dave is also a published author, 'Learning to Succeed in Business with IT', provides a path to success for those generations wishing to gain real business advantage through the management of a long-term ICT skills strategy.
